From the Desk of Adminstrative Vice President for Community Affairs Sumbundu

I am the AVP for Community Affairs. This is a very unique position due to the responsibilities that come with the job. Some of my tasks range from community service, awareness programs and being a liaison between the student body and the administrative body. I also serve on the Alumni Board, the Intercollegiate Athletic Board and the Daycare Board. Like many other positions, it takes a lot of work to put events together while concentrating on other task as they emerge. Being able to prioritize and having a good support team to work with, makes my job a little easier. Sometimes, the most difficult aspect of the job is getting speakers for events and also getting students to participate. As your AVP, I take the pride in maximizing outcome of student to events and minimize cost of events in order to use your mandatory student activity fees to the best of my ability.I rather not answer the questions about my personal life.

Signed,
AVP for Community Affairs Sumbundu

From the Desk of Vice Treasurer Britten | "I rather a real enemy than a fake friend."

I an the Vice Treasurer. I’m like the Treasurer’s “right-hand.” I know already that the entire budget and having to deal with all of the organizations on campus and their financial situation is tough. I’m excited to be able to voice my opinion and help the organizations out. I know some organizations will not be happy or agree with the decisions made, but I am willing to work as closely as possible with them. The only difficulty that I will have would be not having a good relationship with other treasurers. Hopefully I can gain a powerful relationship with every organization. Besides, we’re in this together.

Signed,
Vice Treasurer Britten

From the Desk of Adminstrative Vice President for Communications Henderson | "We are born with a name, we live to create an identification"

I am the AVP for Communications. My job is to advertise and stay up on social networking sites and trends. To not only promote USG but the events that correlates between USG and the Students of Buffalo State College. I believe this job is very hands on and technology forward. You must stay opened minded to embrace the unique atmosphere of the entailment of the job. The most difficult thing is to promote in a effective time manor. This society is ever so changing constantly with all of the gizmos and fast pace society you have to be able to manage and maintain promoting in not only an effective way but a smart way. Secretary Robinson | "I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it."

I am the Secretary for USG. I’m responsible for taking minutes at all USG E-Board, Senate and Corporate meetings. When not in meetings or class I wander from office to office on the fourth floor to see what is going on and know what the up-coming events, programs and projects are.  I also give feedback and share ideas.  My job can be stressful at times because I’m a stickler for wanting the minutes accurate and I don’t want to miss anything.  The most difficult part is trying to type everything when someone is talking fast.  But I like the challenge. From the Desk of Adminstrative Vice President for Student Life Wilherne | “Not everybody can be famous. But everybody can be great”

I attend Senate, USG Executive Board, Student Life Committee, and AVP's meetings every week. This position can be time consuming. What’s important is finding a happy median between working, being a good student and finding time to have a social life. Click the read more tab to read more!

From the Desk of Adminstrative Vice President for Academics Wright | "This too shall pass"

I am the AVP for Academics. I create programs catered to students Academically; I meet with the provost to voice share the voice of students. The most difficult task for my position is creating programs that the students would actually come to because most students aren’t interested in Academic programs; such as spelling bees and etc.The position isn’t as stressful as the other AVP's because it doesn't entitle me actually working closely with the students as oppose to Student Life, or Communications. From the Desk of Treasure Lipka | "Be yourself with passion and intensity"

My position is the USG Treasurer. My duty is to manage USG finances ensuring that the students’ mandatory activity fee is spent properly. I also oversee the USG member organization's treasurers. This job is stressing in many ways but it can also be extremely rewarding. Besides the entailment of the job itself being a challenge, I also find having to say "no" to Orgs, or having to deal with the fact that most of what I do deals with time sensitive matters a bit challenging. But I have it pretty well managed and I have done a lot of great things in the name of USG.

Signed,
Treasure Lipka

From the Desk of Rules and Regulation Chair Campbell | "There are certain shades of limelight that can ruin a girl's complexion".

My position is the  Rules & Regulations Chair. My duties are to create and propose legislation for USG, to recognize and re-recognize organizations within USG, and also help allow new organizations to enter USG. It can definitely be a lot of work, but it's work that I enjoy! The most difficult thing is to create limits with certain deadlines and circumstances. Click the read more link to read more!

Signed,
Rules and Regulation Chair Campbell

From the Desk of Senator Pro Temp Rogers | “Treat others like you would want to be treated”

My position is the Senator Pro Temp. My duties are to make sure Senators are doing their job. As well as doing the job of EVP Huggins if he is not present, updating committee and contacts list, and also chairing the food service committee. It’s hard figuring out when or when not to give out absences. Especially when I want to treat everyone fair, but some circumstances are different or when I continuously tell senators what they need to be doing, yet they don’t do it and I don’t want to be a mother and dictate them about it. Some days are more stressful than others, but I get the job done!
Signed,
Senator Pro Temp Rogers

From the Desk of Vice President Huggins | "Times lost can never be found again"

My position on USG is Executive Vice President. Some of my duties are to assist and take on the duties as president in his/her absence. Be the direct supervisors to the AVPs'. Lastly, serving as the communication link between the E-Board and Business Staff. The most difficult thing to do in my position or any position on USG is the failure to remember that I am too a student and that comes first.
Signed,
Vice President Huggins

From the Desk of President Garfinkle | "Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other."

As the President of USG, I am responsible for meeting with the College Administration to make sure the voices of the students are heard. Other duties of mine include chair of the Executive Branch, and the Senate Meetings and overseeing the efficient functions of all divisions of USG. This position is stressful in some ways, but I enjoy representing the undergraduates at Buffalo State College. It is hard to make everyone happy but I try.
